Acupuncture helps with the regeneration of peripheral nerves and strengthens muscles to prevent atrophy.
Breeched Babies
Acupuncture relaxes the uterus muscle so that the baby has more space to move. Moxibustion on UB67 can help the baby move to the right direction with the head down. In addition, acupuncture can help pregnant women build more energy to deliver the baby naturally.

Chemo/ Radiation Side Effects
Twenty-five percent of Americans at some point in their life is diagnosed with cancer. Of that population, only 10% were cancer free after treatment with surgery, chemo or radiation therapy. It is imperative to find natural ways to prevent cancer as well as increase the survival rate of those affected.
Chemotherapy drugs can damage your heart, kidneys, and lungs. In addition, many patients suffer from breathing difficulties, anxiety, insomnia, neuropathy, and abnormal kidney function during and after chemo treatments. However, these side effects can be prevented.
The positive impact of some herbal remedies, like chemo kush, is now widely known; it really helps with the feelings of nausea, pain, and loss of appetite that are typical side effects of chemotherapy. We can combine acupuncture and herbal medicine to help protect the heart, kidney and lung functions. If a patient has a healthy heart, kidney and lung functions, his / her quality of life should be improved after chemotherapy. Furthermore, anxiety and insomnia resulting from treatment can compromise the immune function. Acupuncture and herbs can help reduce stress and strengthen the immune function.
A stronger immune function can help patients resist relapse. Research has been verified that American ginseng can help strengthen lung, spleen and stomach functions. When a patient digests food better, they can naturally repair the organs which were damaged by chemo and radiation therapy faster.

Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome
This condition occurs sometimes as a result of IVF treatments. When using fertility drugs to stimulate the ovaries to produce more than one egg, the ovaries can be overstimulated, producing more than 10 to 20 eggs at the same time with extreme swelling, causing abdominal distention and water accumulated in the abdominal cavity.
Common symptoms include ovarian enlargement, fluids leaking out of blood vessels and accumulating in abdominal and chest cavity, electrolyte imbalance, thrombosis, pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal distention, difficulty breathing, decreased urination, and kidney and liver dysfunction.
This syndrome tends to occur more frequently in patients with the polycystic ovarian syndrome and hypothyroidism, where increased thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) stimulates the FSH receptor and results in the body overreacting to HCG.
Because excess follicles develop at the same time, eggs cannot mature properly and corpus luteum function could be insufficient, thus leading to uneasy pregnancy after ovulation. If the corpus luteum does not produce enough progesterone, it will negatively influence the development of the fetus and cause a possible miscarriage.
Fortunately, acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine can help reduce the symptoms and induce the remission of ovarian hyperstimulation during IVF. Acupuncture can strengthen the kidney and lung function to facilitate the absorption of the abdominal and chest fluid by our bodies to prevent kidney failure.

Weight Loss
Wei et al.’s research on obese rats found that tryptophan and serotonin levels were decreased in certain areas of the brains in the obese group as compared to the control.
Acupuncture could produce weight reduction by optimizing the serotonin (5-HT) level. Serotonin not only makes people relax and feel good but also enhances intestinal motility to help discharge toxic materials that could produce food stagnation and internal heat. Internal heat, from a Chinese medical perspective, leads to increased appetite and more craving for food. In Western medicine, if food cannot be properly absorbed and converted into blood sugar to provide energy, it will be stored instead as fat in the body. Then, the person feels hungry all the time and must eat constantly to maintain his or her blood sugar level. It can quickly become a vicious cycle.
One way to resolve this problem is to improve digestive function by optimizing serotonin and other hormone levels so that food can be absorbed more efficiently. If people take selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), however, they may accumulate too much serotonin in their bodies, which can dramatically increase their intestinal movement, making them so hungry that they eat constantly and gain weight. Balance is the key to achieving optimal health so letting your own body adjust its serotonin level with the help of acupuncture and dietary changes is the best way to lose weight and stay healthy.
